First Week Wins at Dr. Marian G. Lacey K–8 Academy

“As a first-year AmeriCorps member, there is a lot of expectation connected with the title, but that doesn’t stop me from being excited. My partner teacher teaches 2nd grade, and it’s their second year, so both of us are still learning the ropes. While they pull 鶹 for targeted support, I walk around the classroom and monitor what the 鶹 are doing. It’s fun hearing kids try to make sense of nonsense words to practice fluency and spell out the word for the picture they’ve chosen to practice spelling. Overall, this year is shaping up to be an interesting one!”
