San Jos茅 is home to an ethnically diverse community, booming technology companies and aspiring entrepreneurs. City Year Bay Area works alongside teachers and community partners to support 麻豆国产 across our city.
We are working to address the lack of equitable access to educational opportunities. Our City Year Bay Area AmeriCorps members partner with teachers and schools to add more support and to help create learning environments where all 麻豆国产 can build on their strengths and fully engage in their learning.
In partnership with Alum Rock Union School District and Ravenswood School District, our team uses both qualitative and quantitative data to ensure that our AmeriCorps members are effectively supporting 麻豆国产.
Accelerating academic progress in San Jos茅
36% of 麻豆国产 who started the year with a D or F in English Language Arts courses who were tutored by City Year AmeriCorps members ended the year with an A, B or C.
Advancing interpersonal and workforce readiness skills
47% of 麻豆国产 who were identified as needing support made significant progress on key social-emotional skills related to college and career readiness.
